Tax Manager
Maribel joined the firm in 2019, bringing with her a strong foundation in accounting and taxation. Maribel is currently pursuing a Master of Taxation from Golden Gate University; she is expected to graduate in the summer of 2025. Maribel is also a licensed CPA in California. She has a natural aptitude for numbers and a genuine passion for tax, which has driven her career forward. Maribel began her accounting career at Ernst & Young in San Francisco, where she spent two years providing audit services to public and private companies in the technology industry. After leaving as a Senior Assurance Associate, she transitioned into tax, where she found her true calling.
Maribel is known for her commitment to high-quality work and technical expertise in tax. She stays current with the latest tax laws to help her clients, primarily family-owned businesses and high-net-worth individuals in the real estate, construction, and manufacturing industries, minimize their tax obligations. Her dedication and strong work ethic, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning, make her a valued member of the team.
Unplugged:
Maribel was born in Chicago but raised in Modesto, California, where she currently resides with her spouse, Alex, whom she recently married in 2022. Maribel appreciates the slower-paced lifestyle Modesto offers, especially after living in bustling cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco. Her hobbies include traveling, with a particular interest in exploring new destinations—her next travel goal is to visit Iceland and hopefully see the Northern Lights. When she’s not working or planning her next adventure, Maribel enjoys watching “The Crown” on Netflix and listening to her favorite playlists on Spotify. Although not a big sports fan, she enjoys the freedom that comes with having more time to focus on personal interests and goals.
