Shin joined Bowman in 2016 and serves as a manager in the tax department. In her role, she specializes in income tax preparation, planning, and accounting services for high-net-worth individuals and their family-owned businesses in the agricultural, professional, medical, winery, and real estate industries. She earned her Master of Accountancy Degree from Stetson University in 2011, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the Dean’s List. Shin has previously held the positions of tax supervisor and tax senior within the firm.
Known as a cheerful and reliable professional, Shin believes in doing what is right, and not taking shortcuts. She was originally inspired to pursue the tax profession when she volunteered as a Tax-Aide for the AARP organization assisting low to moderate-income taxpayers with their tax filings and saving them money by claiming tax benefits which they were not aware of. This experience was very gratifying for Shin. In her life and career, Shin models her personal philosophy that self-changes and improvements start with yourself.
Unplugged: Shin lives in Lodi, California with her husband and son. When she is not working, she enjoys many hobbies, including gardening, baking, traveling, doing Zumba, and ice skating. She especially loves spending time with her family and says her favorite thing to do is being actively involved in her son’s activities and education.
