Daniel R. Hust, CPA

Daniel joined Bowman & Company in 2019 and has established himself as a trusted leader in the Tax Department. He specializes in the taxation of partnerships, with a particular emphasis on affordable housing partnerships, and also works extensively with farming and construction clients. A CPA licensed in California, Daniel is recognized as the firm’s go-to expert for partnership Section 743(b) basis adjustments. 

Before joining Bowman, Daniel spent three years with a small CPA firm in Lodi, California, where he prepared tax returns for individuals and S-corporations and compiled financial statements. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of the Pacific’s Eberhardt School of Business in 2013. 

Daniel is known for his determination, attention to detail, and dedication to maintaining the highest quality standards in his work. He is committed to mentoring others, sharing his knowledge, and ensuring that clients receive the best possible service. His personal service philosophy is rooted in the belief that one should always be curious, strive to understand the “why” in every situation, and never compromise on quality. 

Unplugged: 

Born and raised in Lodi, California, Daniel comes from a working-class family whose roots in the state trace back to the dust bowl migration from the Midwest during the Great Depression. His grandparents, whom he considers his greatest role models, instilled in him the values of hard work and perseverance. Daniel enjoys working on his family’s ranch, fishing, and hunting. One of his proudest personal accomplishments is building his own home from the ground up. 

Daniel loves the rural charm of San Joaquin County, from the delta on the west side to the Sierra foothills on the east. He appreciates the area’s diverse topography and culture and enjoys the peaceful drives along country roads during his morning commute.
