Amber is a Manager in Bowman’s Audit and Tax Departments, where she specializes in serving nonprofit organizations and low–income housing projects. Since joining the firm in 2018, she has progressed through several roles and developed extensive experience in nonprofit audits, tax compliance, exempt organization formation, agency issue resolution, and consulting related to nonprofit operations and dissolution.
In the Audit Department, Amber manages engagements for nonprofit organizations and low–income housing projects. Within the Tax Department, she oversees many of the firm’s nonprofit tax filings and serves as a go–to resource for nonprofit tax questions. She works closely with clients to identify filing and compliance issues, resolve matters with regulatory agencies, and provide practical guidance on accounting transactions, internal processes, and software solutions.

Amber is committed to helping clients navigate challenges with clarity and confidence. Her nonprofit expertise has allowed her to support organizations through leadership transitions, help boards understand accounting activity, and recommend stronger practices for the future.
Within Bowman, Amber plays an active role in developing the next generation of professionals. She trains new team members and creates mock audit and Form 990 preparation exercises to strengthen their technical knowledge and practical experience. She has also optimized the firm’s nonprofit tax practice by improving work–in–process management, developing a client organizer, and expanding continuing education opportunities for the team.
Amber earned both her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accounting from the University of the Pacific and is a licensed CPA in California.
Unplugged:
Amber grew up in Lodi, California, and now lives in Manteca with her husband, Michael. They have a daughter, Lyra, and nine cats: Samantha, Scamper, Shadow, Smudge, Cali, Remo, Tigger, Daisy, and Sprite.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys reading, traveling (frequently to Disneyland and the beach), and all things Disney. She is also actively involved in her church and community and believes strongly in helping others whenever the opportunity arises.
